Why We Give

Charlene and Don Dorsey
With boundless enthusiasm, Don Dorsey gave a large part of his life to Jesuit Dallas. Several years after his passing, the long-time science teacher and camera club moderator continues to impact the mission through a planned gift and the creation of the Don and Charlene Polivka Dorsey Faculty Chair of Science, an endowed fund that supports the School’s science faculty.  More »

Marguerite and Mike ’74 Marz
When Marguerite and I chose to create our donor advised fund, we wanted to provide sustainability to the organizations and people we believed positively impacted the lives and communities they served. We both felt strongly that the mission and educational framework of a "Men for Others" at Jesuit Dallas was something we wanted to help preserve. The School’s record of producing future scholars, doctors, and civic leaders, and its commitment to educating the whole person continues to inspire us.  More »

Greg Brennan
In 1992, four years after the tragic passing of his son Matt ’88, Greg Brennan and his family started the Matthew G. Brennan ’88 Memorial Scholarship, which for over 20 years has provided need-based financial aid to deserving students. The Scholarship has helped dozens turn the dream of a Jesuit education into a reality. Greg passed away in 2016 after 27 years of faithful support to the mission, leaving a portion of his living trust to the School. In choosing to include Jesuit Dallas in his estate plans, Greg left a legacy for his beloved son that will impact generations of young men.  More »

Jeannette and Don Maher ’65
When Don Maher ’65 talks about Jesuit Dallas, he does so with impassioned pride. "It really was the most formative experience of my life and everything I have—every success I have had as a person, directly flows from Jesuit. I’ll never forget the day my father said to me, "Don, I’m really proud of what you’ve accomplished—I sent a boy to Jesuit and they sent me back a man."  More »

Andrew Olivo '00
Andrew Olivo ’00 was raised to be socially aware, and although he knew of Ignation education, he was introduced to Jesuit Dallas as an outsider who wasn’t always in the system. As an inspiring young professional who continues to dedicate his time and resources to numerous educational boards and social justice organizations, Olivo is quick to point to his Jesuit education for helping to fuel his professional efficacy...  More »

Paul Billings '83
The message is simple. Inspiration. At least that served as Paul Billings' motivation when he gifted a $1 million life insurance policy in the name of Jesuit Dallas. A second generation alumnus entrenched in the school’s mission of developing Men for Others, Billings’ enthusiasm for Jesuit and its impact as an educational and spiritual beacon is evident from the get-go.  More »

Pat and Maureen McCaffrey
